Murderbot Adds Patton Oswalt, Topher Grace, Steve Buscemi and More for Second Season

Apple TV is expanding the ensemble for Season 2 of its Emmy-nominated sci-fi comedy Murderbot, with Steve Buscemi, Wanda Sykes, Patton Oswalt, Topher Grace, Martha Plimpton, Bridget Everett, Michael Sheen, Tramell Tillman, Blair Underwood and Brendan Hunt among the new additions.

The new cast joins returning series star and executive producer Alexander Skarsgård, along with Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones and Tamara Podemski. Recurring guest stars Clark Gregg, John Cho, DeWanda Wise and Jack McBrayer are also set to return.

Created by Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz and based on Martha Wells’ bestselling Murderbot Diaries series, Murderbot follows a self-hacking security construct who is deeply uncomfortable with human emotion but becomes increasingly attached to the vulnerable clients it is tasked with protecting. Skarsgård stars as the titular construct.

Apple TV has not yet revealed details about the Season 2 storyline.
