The whole five years to live thing isn't necessarily for Bruce specifically. Patients are almost never told something like "You have five years," and are typically told the average life expectancy for someone post diagnosis, and it can include patients who are not being treated and patients in their eighties and nineties. Bruce is 68, and I'd be very surprised if he doesn't live past 75.
Bruce will be laughing at the face of death in his own way all the way to the end.
I love you brucey! be strong, I hope for the best!
he's a really positive and optimistic dude so I'm sure he's going to troop on the best he can, but everytime I hear more about this I feel sad, I was still really hoping we'd see more of Ash vs. Evil Dead, because that was a wonderful show, and that ending! OMG.
Life's totally unfair.. I'm wishing all the best to him and his family.
The best thing they could do at this point is bring back the other characters from Ash vs. The Evil Dead & the 2013, since the goal with the recent sequels seems to be to make a loose cinematic universe. Maybe recast the character for animation if they decide they can do a sequel to the TV show's ending, the guy from Poker Night 2 did pretty good as the character, so while I don't love the idea of recasting, it could be done in the right context. And I do feel like an animated movie set in the future to give the character closure is better than leaving him with a cliffhanger forever.
The sad thing is, he's not the only one and it always goes like some companies and staff members can't agree on terms, so many sequels are in the limbo for years or decades. And the actors we love and care about are getting older. They run out of time. I totally understand that he went this way, there were no other options, but at least he was the one who could decide the final fate of the character. I just want to thank all the good memories and awesome acting.

Right, I completely agree, and that's why I say I hate the decision, but not that I hate HIM. He has every right to make his own choices.
Nothing too surprising about this. I'll toast him for all that he gave us, and hope that his future is bright. As far as cancer goes, anything happen. A co-worker just finished being a part of an experimental treatment/study and the news he shared today was that there is no detectable trace of cancer in his bone marrow, down from 65% when he was first diagnosed, so you never know how things can turn out.
