This seems like the kind of thing that only works in animated form, especially when Grace is clearly not as young as she was in the Ghostbusters sequels.

I think the gang was supposed to be recently out of high school in Scooby Doo, Where are You, so...McKenna Grace's age should be dead on. From the description of the series in the Variety article, it's a prequel with the gang meeting for the first time while Shaggy and Daphne are spending their last summer at camp, and it sounds like they're probably supposed to be about 15 or 16. I don't know why Hollywood does s*** like this, but whatever.
