Harry Potter Series Adds Rafe Spall as Arthur Weasley, Casts Moaning Myrtle and Colin Creevey

HBO’s Harry Potter television series is continuing to build out its Hogwarts ensemble.

Rafe Spall has been cast as Arthur Weasley, the warm-hearted patriarch of the Weasley family and father of Ron Weasley. The role was played by Mark Williams in the original film franchise.

Spall currently stars in Apple TV’s Trying. His previous credits include Life of Pi, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Men in Black: International and Black Mirror.

The series has also cast newcomers Molly Hewitt-Richards as Moaning Myrtle and Jasper Ambrose as Colin Creevey. Both characters first appear in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

The first season, based on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is expected to debut on Christmas this year. The second season is currently filming and is expected to follow in late 2027 or 2028.
