We told you about this figure the other day, but now Valaverse has released official images from their DFW panel for the upcoming 1/12 scale Action Force 1944 World War 2 Rocketeer figure.

It's made to be a what Cliff had been recruited to fight in World War 2. He has the classic comic rocket pack. You will get a helmeted head and a un-helmeted head with seperate helmet. The unhelmeted head is based on creator Dave Stevens.

They will be doing a OD Green variant version as well. The Rocket Pack was designed by one of the orignal designers from the movie. Check out the images below.

I think it's an interesting choice to be sure. I hope they limit the fictional characters to maybe one or two per year. If they're really going to for a realistic 1944/WW2 line dropping in fictional characters will cheapen the line a bit. I like the idea of one or two periodically. I think the Phantom would be a good addition but maybe in 2028.

I was thinking the same thing i.e. I usually like source accuracy but in this case I like what they've done. I would have much less use for a plain Rocketeer - the way they've done it looks good and offers some good parts for tayloring the look to personal preference.

Very interesting choice with the Rocketeer! The colors could be better but I like how he's mixing it up.

I'm usually the guy who prefers the comic accurate version of whatever's being done....but I was always partial to the movie version of the rocketpack. The comic, purple single cannister just looked "off" to me. Very glad to see Vala offering both versions!! Once again, really wish hasbo would do WWII golden age characters!

I'm disappointed he's not wearing the paint ball sweater. That's kind of Vala's thing -- everyone in the same shirt.

Interesting. Street figures are wecome, but is this something that may carry a whole new line? I remember that some were trying this hard, but did not get through a few figures. Maybe with well known characters (minus the likeness of the actors) from movies and videogames?

I give Vala credit for persevering, and sticking with that paintball shirt he loves for 90% of his figures. But Valaverse figures are completely put to shame by the BBTS Monster Force stuff. I only had a few green shirt Deltas left as of a few months ago, but I dumped them all once I got the Phantom Force trooper in hand.

I was excited for the the Black series based off The Black Exclusive I got but seeing these not be pirates made me sad.
