Valaverse has announced that pre-orders for the first wave of its new Extras line will open Friday, July 31, at Valaverse.com. Here is their full announcement:

Over the last few weeks, we’ve gotten a huge amount of excitement over our new Extras line coming later this year. We knew this line would be successful, but we’ve noticed the Extras getting praise on so many additional ends of the action figure market. It can be very frustrating when items sell out so we have decided to open up pre-orders for the Extras line this week! We are forecasting this line to be much larger than anticipated so this allows us enough time to increase our production quantities and ensure everyone has a chance to get Extras in their collection. The popularity of Extras has been through the roof and we are already working on future series.

Series 1 of Extras will feature 8 items including core figures along with torso, leg and head packs. The Extras line is fully customizable allowing you to create a ton of options with just a few purchases. We also made sure this line is priced at an incredible value to allow you to make multiple purchases without it breaking the bank.

The Extras line will be arriving at our warehouse in early December so it will be a short pre-order wait time. The pre-order goes up this Friday, July 31st on Valaverse.com. We are not sure how long the pre-order window will be open for but, we will give enough time before it closes.

Did Shartimus' ones ever come out? I remember hearing about them years(?) but don't recall ever having seen reviews of them or the like.

Given BBWS similar line launching soon, it does smack rather of an Antz/Bug's Life or Deep Impact/Armageddon-type situation.

Yeah TBH I don't really know, but I'm fairly certain that Shartimus's figures got canned..or went back to the drawing board, but that aside, they were widely solicited at some point and everyone knew they had prototypes, and it was before both Vala and BBWS had there cilivian figures so I'm going to say Shart still started this trend. Sadly the comp beat him to the punch.

They seem really different to me. Valaverse's line is just a bunch of street-level thugs. There's no real variety of purpose.

Oh, they're definitely different in execution but similar in terms of being non-named 'civilian' characters. BBWS version is just going wider at the offset in terms of their initial spread while Valaverse are sticking to their core business plan of base figure with lots of variations. There's definitely a place for both, especially if they work well enough together and with other major 6-inch brands.

BBTS's line has police, gangsters, cheerleaders, random civilians, and even FBI agents.

If the BBTS line ever comes out, it will be a lot more useful than Vala's.

Wait wasn't this Shartmus Prime's thing? are these not the same figures without monster heads? Like tell me I'm wrong, this looks like something I've seen, and if it's not...like BBWS is doing something like this..

It's an interesting line, I'll grant you that and Valaverse would seem very well positioned for this sort of thing with the solid fanbase they've amassed. Havethey said anything about pricing yet? I've not got any Valaverse stuff previously and am kinda intrigued to get that Bobby Vala one as a test...
