It's
Wednesday and you know what that means...
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the
Gotham by Gaslight Joker from
Mezco's
One:12 Collective line. This is one of those "
What if" kind of figures, as the
Joker did not appear in the
Gotham by Gaslight comic book, so we can ponder questions like "
What if the Joker was in the Victorian era?", or "
What if the Joker figure came out months before the actual Batman from that story?". Well,
here it is!
Special thanks to my friend Ryan C for the assist to get this one!

This has to be one of the most sober boxes from
Mezco I have seen in a while. No sleeve, pretty light cardboard compared to the usual, just straight to the point. Fair enough.

This
Gotham by Gaslight Joker comes with a nice
jacket, a
scarf, a
bloody apron, a
top hat,
sunglasses, a
suitcase,
3 playing cards,
2 headsculpts, all sorts of
hands and a
plethora of sharp tools which can be stored in the suitcase (which is pretty awesome!).
The
smiling headsculpt is a beautiful homage to
Conrad Veidt's classic look from the
1928 movie "
The Man Who Laughs", which is a great touch. I love that kind of little
easter eggs, especially since the
Joker character was heavily inspired by the character in that movie in the first place.

Well, what else can I say? This is your usual
Mezco One:12 Collective figure: Great
articulation, the
tailoring is fantastic, this will look amazing on any shelf. Several options for display (
jacket, jacket+scarf, no jacket, apron,... naked?).
