Happy April Fools' Day, everyone! Today is a good day to be careful about what you hear, see or read (as opposed to every other day, where it would be just common sense), since lots of people are going to try to prank you! Fake announcements, jokes,... it's all fair game today. Since we, at ToyFarce, do that all year long, we thought it would be fun to reminisce on the times where we ended up telling real news! After all, even a broken clock can be right twice a day!
WEDDING DRESS GRETA October 2020 - After NECA announced the first Greta figure from Gremlins 2, we reported that there would be another version of her, in her gorgeous wedding dress coming soon. We even added a video of actor extraordinaire Robert Picardo, who gave us a lovely, hilarious anecdote about their wedding. Fast forward to SDCC 2022, and the Ultimate Wedding Dress Greta was revealed.
STREET SHARKS... SORT OF. April 2020 - After the success of the McFarlane Toys Spawn Kickstarter, we got the scoop that since toys from the 90s seemed to do well on Kickstarter, the Street Sharks were about to make a comeback as well. Lo and behold, a year later, in August 2021, Mattel Creations announced a crowdfunding campaign for ... the original concept art of the Street Sharks... AND THE CROWD WENT MILD. The figures didn't look JAWSOME, and were $75 each... Thankfully, this year, they are making a real comeback!
STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES - HALLOWEEN EDITION October 2020 - The very first Star Wars: The Black Series Holiday Edition figures had just been announced for the following Christmas, but we realized that there was still Halloween before that, and decided that we should get Star Wars: The Black Series Halloween Edition figures too. Then, in 2022, we finally got them.
Still keeping our hopes up for the Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, St Patrick and Easter ones we mentioned too >>
DC MULTIVERSE BATMAN AND ROBIN & BATMAN FOREVER January 2021 - Our crowned achievement. In early 2021, not even a year into the brand new McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line, we unveiled upcoming plans to do action figures from everyone's favorite Batman movies, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, both directed by Joel Schumacher. 3 years later, we proudly reviewed the DC Multiverse Batman and Robin wave that had just come out. And a few days ago, McFarlane Toys revealed a Batman Forever wave. We're not saying that we're taking full credit for those DC Multiverse wave existing, but still...
Crossing fingers for those...
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
-Funko Pop Soon Running Out of Franchises and Ideas, Will Start to Make Regular People >> The existence of "Pop! Yourself"
-More Toy Companies to Use Crowdfunding After McFarlane Toys Kickstarter Spawn Announcement >> The plethora of Kickstarters, Haslabs, Mattel Creations,... that have happened since
What would you like us to report, in order to make it come true a few years later? Let us know in the comments!

"Emergency Medical Hologram: Please state the nature of the medical emergency."
Robert Picardo is a treasure. I only asked him to make a small joke about Greta and how the wedding was, and he just improvised the whole thing, in character from Gremlins 2. Amazing.
That's awesome. Always liked the guy. He's one of those character actors who are in a million things that you've forgotten about, and then one day you're just sitting around minding your own business randomly watching Dead Heat and BOOM! you get hit with a "Doctor from Voyager" appearance. Anyway, that's awesome that he went to that length.
Today I learned that the actor who played the doctor from Voyager is actually named Picardo. And for that, I thank you.

I am a fool of April (in her basic yellow jumpsuit). Jokes aside, it's a great throwback of how life really clones articles. I'm hoping for more rounds of craziness in the following years!
Same. Really hoping a couple of other ideas sparkled something, somewhere!
Please report that somebody picked up the Firefly licence and they're doing 1:12 versions of the whole crew without brittle articulation and fragile accessories
Or that they're making a 1:12 JP Explorer with Lex and Tim... and a Super Colossal Spinosaurus
preferably both
I'd love that! The Firefly Legacy Collection figures from Funko were such a let down... My Captain Reynolds lost a hand, because I tried to move it... Silly me. ?
