It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having an look at the first wave of Operation: Monster Force by BigBadToyStore's very own BigBadWorkshop and Fresh Monkey Fiction! EXCITING! I'm not usually into military figures, but if you add monsters to the equation, then obviously, I'm gonna be all over it. I was looking forward to this new action figure line, so a HUGE THANK YOU to BigBadToyStore and Fresh Monkey Fiction for the opportunity to have an early look!

The story (there's a story!) is pretty great too, and goes like this: "The Forgotten King has returned. Once a sorcerer pharaoh whose reign was so vile his name was erased from Egyptian history, the Forgotten King pursues a sinister agenda, gathering mystical artifacts from around the world for some unknown purpose. Every soldier sent to stop him is killed and re-animated into an undead zombie that is under the Forgotten King's command."

I loved the design of the Forgotten King as soon as I saw it, and it is an awesome figure. He comes with a ton of accessories: 10 pairs of hands (skin color and translucent blue), staff with different attachments and magic effects. The figure has great articulation, on par with the usual GI Joe Classified Series or Marvel Legends figures (double elbows, double knees, etc...). His coat is made of soft plastic, and does not hinder articulation. The 3 Sleepwalker troopers are also equally awesome. They use mostly the same body and parts, but the different color give each its own different personality. They come with a ton of accessories, extra heads and hands, weapons, fire effects, a very cool smoke effect, and various parts that can be attached to their backpack to differentiate them. My favorite is the Heavy Weapons Division one, with green paint. He comes with a huge weapon and tubes to attach to his back.

"Worried the Forgotten King’s rein of terror will not be able to be stopped, the military enlists the help of monster hunter Declan Van Helsing. Seeing no other option, Declan goes against the Van Helsing family’s wishes and opens Tomb 13, freeing the worlds most powerful vampire…Count Dracula. His rationale - it may take a monster to bring down a monster."

Declan Van Helsing is also a great looking figure, that comes with a ton of accessories, including 8 pairs of hands, a crossbow, an assault rifle, guns, and tons of extra parts that can be attached to his vest and thigh armor pieces. There are tons of possible configurations for those accessories, which is nice. Count Dracula, on the other hand, is the one with the least accessories, with an extra head, a few pairs of hands and a sword. What he lacks in accessories, he makes up in presence, though. It's such a cool looking interpretation of the character. He uses most of the same parts as the Forgotten King, with the long soft plastic coat.

"And so, Operation: Monster Force is formed! Under Dracula’s direction, a unique vampire strike unit is created called “Delta Red,” whose undead condition makes them immune to the Forgotten King’s powers. It’s a race against time for Dracula and Van Helsing to discover the Forgotten King’s hidden lair and destroy him before his mysterious plan reaches completion."

The Delta Red soldiers mostly use the same parts as Declan Van Helsing, each coming with 3 different heads and 2 different helmet parts. They also come with several pairs of hands, weapons, and all the parts to attach to their vest and armor pieces. They are both really awesome figure, even if the articulations tend to be hindered if you put too much stuff on them. Perfect army builder figures.

Overall, these figures are of great quality. They feel great in hand, sturdy, no gummy plastic, articulate well. There are already many more figures announced for that Operation: Monster Force line, including a Frankenstein monster-looking figure called the Donner Party, an awesome looking werewolf, an Invisible man, etc... and I am looking forward to see where this line goes. Double thumbs up!

Did I mention they all come with a sweet gravestone base?

Pretty insane review flow! Loved all the insightful pictures, the lighting and the poses are awesome. I believe this was one of the greatest ways how the original eagle Force could evolve. I really like the idea, and the execution is on par.

Wave 2 has some regular soldiers, and later The General, Check out their Soldiers of Fortune line,https://toynewsi.com/377-53500, coming also though not up for preorder yet. It looks like the same as the zombie troopers without the zombie. They also have The Order of the Crimson Moon coming in a 6" line which has a nice hooded Cobra Commander style figure.

I have some of the Phantom Corps troops preordered. I'm a bit mad they put the helmet in a separate pack though and consider cancelling every day. We will see. I will keep watching their other stuff.

If they make more realistic looking soldiers, I'm intrigued by these as a supplement to Classified (filling the role that Valaverse refuses to). I don't have much interest in their monsters or standalone story though.

I really like these. There's just no way I can afford to start collecting another line. I buy too much as is. Sorry, BBTS.
