"
We simply can’t take another one..." -
San Diego Comic-Con 2025 may be over, but the
emotional and financial damage it inflicted on collectors will echo for months, if not years! In a bold and desperate move, collectors across the globe have united to ask toy companies to please
skip San Diego Comic-Con 2026 entirely, so their wallets and PayPal Credit accounts can recover from this year's onslaught of reveals, exclusives, and pre-orders.
ToyFarce investigated...
"
We're not saying 'Don't make toys', we"re just saying: 'Chill for a bit'. Maybe take a year off? Just one? Please?" said Josh, a collector currently living inside a box his latest
Pile-of-Loot came in.
The 2025 convention was an
absolute avalanche of temptation. With every brand dropping waves of figures reveals, deluxe box sets, exclusives that sell out in seconds, and teaser images of toys not even scheduled to ship until 2031, collectors found themselves in a spiral of
budgeting spreadsheets,
list prioritization, and
internal debates like "Do I really need to eat lunch every day?"
Many report symptoms of "
Post-SDCC Financial Shock Syndrome" - or
PSDCCFSS - which include:
- Extreme hesitancy to open email newsletters
- Heart palpitations when hearing the word "exclusive"
- Dreaming about toy booths and waking up with pre-orders placed
Some collectors have even taken to the streets (and Discord) with handmade signs reading "
TOYS, NOT RENT!" and "
NO SDCC 2026 — MAKE TOYS SLOWLY AGAIN."
Toy companies have yet to respond to the request, but inside sources claim the answer is a definitive no. In fact, some companies have already teased their "
SDCC 2026 Exclusives Pre-Preview Event" happening next week.
Collectors are now considering organizing a "
Comic-Con Cleanse", a full 365 days ignoring announcements, drops, leaks, or exclusive figures. Experts say it has a
0% chance of success.
Have you recovered from SDCC 2025 yet? Do you remember what money looked like before the con? Let us know in the comments!
