In a shocking and truly horrifying turn of events, an in-box collector reportedly opened one of their mint, sealed action figures over the weekend, sending shivers down the spines of in-box collectors everywhere. ToyFarce investigated... Viewer discretion is advised.

Eyewitnesses say it happened so fast, no one could stop it. "He just took the box, looked at it for a moment... and then cut the tape!" said one traumatized friend, still visibly shaken. "We tried to talk him out of it, but he said something about 'wanting to pose it on the shelf.' It was... gruesome. I haven't been sleeping well since the event..."

The opened figure, now forever "loose", has been described as "actually kind of cool" and "very poseable", but at what cost? Experts estimate its resale value instantly plummeted by at least 25 to 50%, with the mint packaging now "a tragic pile of cardboard and plastic shell".

Fellow collectors have gathered to offer their support:. "I've seen a lot in this hobby..." said one veteran collector, "...but nothing prepares you for seeing that bubble being peeled off. That crack and shredding cardboard sound will haunt you!".

We are told the opened figure has now been quarantined in a display case, while counseling services have been made available for those affected.

More news at 11:00... The collector says he might even open a second one "for fun". Stay safe out there!

When I was younger and figures were much cheaper, I would keep some figures MOC. If I really liked it I would buy a second to open. Now that Im older Ive gone back to open and enjoy. When I eventually get my old collection out of storage, Im finally gonna open and enjoy some of those figures, as I should have done back then.

An interesting story for sure, and I'm really missing the "no MOC figures injured during filming" end title...
