It's that magical week again:
Halloween Week! The only time of the year when it suddenly becomes socially acceptable to display your
horror action figures outside of the toy room.
ToyFarce investigated...
For 51 weeks, your collection of
masked slashers,
creepy clowns, and
possessed dolls must remain confined to your toy room, far from the eyes of unsuspecting guests (
and/or judgmental significant others). But for this one glorious week, they're finally allowed out...
and even celebrated as "
Halloween decorations"!
"
Suddenly, my NECA Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees figures are allowed on the TV stand..." said one collector. "
My lifesize Chucky is on the sofa, and my wife even said he looks 'cute'. It's truly a Halloween miracle!"
And this year, a new contender has joined the lineup:
Art the Clown, from
Terrifier. Once considered "
too disturbing" for the living room, the
NECA blood soaked Art the clown now proudly sits next to the
scented pumpkin candle, silently staring at anyone who dares grab a snack after midnight.
Collectors everywhere are making the most of it: rearranging their displays, adding orange LED lights for "
ambiance" and insisting that their shelf of blood-soaked killers counts as a
Halloween centerpiece. Other horror icons like
Freddy Krueger,
Pennywise or
Leatherface are enjoying their brief time in the spotlight before they're sent back to their dark corners come
November 1st.
So go ahead: Let your monsters roam free! Let your slashers mingle with the family photos. Let your
Art the Clown stand proudly on the coffee table. Because once Halloween is over, they'll all have to go back to the toy room...
until next year?
Happy Halloween Week! Make it count before your living room turns back into a "
normal" space again! Send us pics of your '
halloween display"!
More news at 11:
Study shows 87% of collectors refer to their horror shelves as "seasonal decorations" this week.
