In what experts are calling "
an entirely predictable outcome", a
WWE collector attempted to recreate
Seth Rollins’ over-the-top
WrestleMania 42 entrance with a smoking jacket this weekend, accidentally setting his
Mattel action figure ablaze in the process.
ToyFarce investigated...
Rollins, known for his increasingly extravagant outfits, made his entrance wearing a smoking jacket, complete with actual smoke effects coming out of the jacket, prompting at least one fan to think: "
Yeah, I can do that at home."
"
I just wanted it to be screen accurate" said local collector Jason, while fanning smoke out of his toy room. "
The figure looked great, I painted his eyes black and all, but it was missing that wow factor. You know, the smoke. The aura. The fire hazard."
According to reports, Jason used a combination of cotton, a lighter, and "
wrestling passion" to simulate the effect. Witnesses say the entrance recreation lasted approximately three seconds before the figure became "
fully engulfed in authenticity".
"
I even played his theme music..." Jason added. "
It was perfect. Until it wasn’t."
Mattel has not officially commented, but sources close to the company confirmed they are "
once again asking collectors to not set their toys on fire", marking the
third such request this year. An official statement will be issued shortly.
Meanwhile, fellow collectors remain divided.: "
If you’re not willing to risk everything for accuracy, are you even collecting?" one commenter wrote. Others were less impressed. "
Bro could’ve just used a vape..." another suggested. At press time, Jason confirmed he is already planning his next project:
recreating an Undertaker entrance using real lighting...
