ToyFarce News: Nacelle Toys Announces Star Trek Action Figures Wave 5: Oops! All Jeffrey Combs

This weekend, the Star Trek: Las Vegas - 60th Anniversary Trek to Vegas convention took place... in Las Vegas (duh!) and several toy companies were present to show their current and future offerings related to the beloved franchise, such as EXO-6 with their 1/6th scale figures and Nacelle Toys with their upcoming build-a-brige set. Nacelle Toys also announced the fifth wave of their Star Trek action figures, and the company appears to have finally solved one of the biggest problems facing the franchise: there simply aren't enough Jeffrey Combs figures. The new wave will allegedly feature eight different characters portrayed by Jeffrey Combs, including Weyoun (DS9), the Serilian Tiron (DS9), the Ferengi Krem (ENT), Officer Kevin Mulkahey (DS9), Suldok the Romulan (Star Trek: Elite Force 2), the Ferengi Brunt (DS9), Penk (VOY) and Thy'lek Shran (ENT). That's right: eight figures, one actor. The wave has reportedly been dubbed "Oops! All Jeffrey Combs" by collectors, although Nacelle Toys insists this was completely intentional.



"We looked at the list of characters Jeffrey Combs played and realized we had enough for an entire wave..." said a Nacelle Toys representative. "Then we looked at the list again and realized we could possibly do several more!" Future waves could feature at least 3 more Jeffrey Combs characters, while the inevitable Deluxe Edition could simply be Jeffrey Combs himself, with a make up artist, a make up chair and mirror, and all 8 different costumes.

For those wondering why Weyoun is included in that wave, despite being already part of Wave 1, Nacelle confirmed that it is not the same Weyoun, as there were at least 5 different clones during Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Weyoun 4 to Weyoun 8). The one from Wave 1 was Weyoun 8, while the one from Wave 5 is Weyoun 6. Could we see more Weyoun clones in future waves? Time will tell...

The decision has reportedly created some confusion among collectors, particularly those attempting to build a complete Star Trek display. "At first I thought I was looking at eight different figures..." said one collector. "Then I remembered Jeffrey Combs played half the universe!". Another collector has reportedly begun referring to the upcoming wave as "The Jeffrey Combs Cinematic Universe".

Nacelle Toys has not yet announced whether future waves will continue this strategy, although rumors suggest future waves could include characters played by Vaughn Armstrong (12 roles, including Maxwell Forrest, Klingons, Cardassians, a Romulan, a Borg, and a Hirogen), J.G. Hertzler (Martok, Kolos, Vulcan captain, Roy Ritterhouse,...), Brent Spiner (Data, Lore, prototype B-4 or Noonien Soong with all his descendants), or Majel Barrett (Nurse Chapel, Lwaxana Troi and pretty much the voice of every Enterprise ships).
