Target’s Fall Geek-Out event may have run into a
slight scheduling problem this year, as it appears that
Target may have forgotten to actually start it. The retailer has been advertising the event as "
just around the corner" and promising that
Fall Geek-Out would be "
back in August" for another season of collectibles. Unfortunately, August is now running
dangerously low, and collectors are still waiting for said corner to arrive...
ToyFarce investigated.
Traditionally,
Target’s Fall Geek-Out is the kind of event where collectors can expect new reveals and preorders dropping every Friday, leading to several weeks of frantic refreshing, sold-out exclusives and people discovering that the item they wanted was apparently available for 14 seconds at 8:01 AM. But today is
Friday, August 28, and there has been no
Fall Geek-Out announcement or reveal to kick things off... (Note: at time of writing, just in case they remember during the day...)
This has left collectors wondering if
Target simply forgot about the event. Perhaps there is a
Target employee somewhere looking at the calendar and suddenly realizing: "
Wait. Weren’t we supposed to do a Geek-Out thing this month? Oh no..."
"Well, it's a really big corner, that's all..."
To make things even more confusing, some
Fall Geek-Out products have already been announced (as is tradition, as items are always either leaked or found in random stores weeks before the events), including a
G.I. Joe Classified Ninja Force Snake Eyes and Kim "Jinx" Arashikage 2-Pack from
Hasbro which is scheduled for September 18, suggesting the event is definitely happening at some point. So
Target may have not forgotten about
Fall Geek-Out after all... "
Just wait, it's right around the corner, it'll be here in a minute, I swear!"

assuming Target remembers to announce it!
