Fresh Monkey Fiction and BigBadWorkShop Operation: Monster Force Season 2 The Donner Party Review and Images

This week, we're having an early look at the Operation: Monster Force Season 2 The Donner Party figure from Fresh Monkey Fiction and BigBadWorkShop. Continuing the spooky season with another Fresh Monkey Fiction product, this time in partnership with BigBadToyStore's own brand BigBadWorkShop, the Operation: Monster Force Season 2 The Donner Party is a great figure with an awesome backstory.

The story appears in the form of a comic book on the packaging, and tells us about the Donner Party, a real story about an expedition in the mid-1840’s. Half of the Donner Party ended up dying under horrific circumstances when they were snowed into the Sierra Nevadas on their way to California. Starvation, frostbite, infection and murder all led to numerous bodies preserved in the cold and used as food for those still alive. When the survivors were finally rescued, the dead were left behind. (This is all a true story up to now...) Then, a scientist collected the remaining parts and made a creature of his own, à la Frankenstein monster. This is such a cool and creative way to add a Frankenstein monster to the line, while also using real events as its backstory. It also says that for two centuries, The Donner Party wandered in the shadows watching over the descendants of the members of the original expedition. When the Forgotten King ended up kidnapping one of the female descendants as part of an unrelated plan, The Donner Party decided to join forces with Declan Van Helsing's Operation Monster Force to help fight their enemies. Isn't it AWESOME?









The figure comes with 4 pairs of hands, a pistol, a rifle, a machine gun, a machette with sheath, effects for the guns, a soft goods cape and a gravestone base. I'm biaised because I love that line, but this is a great figure. The details on the head sculpt and body are really nice, and he doesn't look 'too gnarly'. I only thought it was going to be slightly taller, but this works just fine as well, as he's supposed to be made up of 'normal' people parts. The soft goods cape is wired and really enhances the look of the figure. He's definitely going to help even the odds against the Forgotten King's army, who now has werewolves and a descendant of the invisible man!
