It's
Wednesday and you know what that means:
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the 8th wave of
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1/18 scale figures from
Joy Toy, which includes
Leatherhead and
Metalhead. It's the
'heads wave, if you will. Both figures are amazing, but
Metalhead definitely is the winner, with one of the coolest version of that character ever, with tons of great accessories.
Leatherhead comes with a
3 pairs of hands, a
shotgun, a
rocket launcher with
rocket, a
fishing rod, a
lobster and the usual
base and
stand. It's a great crocodile figure, a bit on the taller side, like most of the villains have been in that
Joy Toy line. He moves pretty well, has a bendy tail and you can open his jaw. His shotgun can be attached on his back. I've seen collectors complaining about the lobsters attached to his legs that get in the way and could break easily, but I didn't have any issue with it. It's a really fun
Leatherhead figure.

Metalhead is where
Joy Toy decided to shine bright, delivering one of the best
Metalhead figure ever made. He comes with a ton of accessories/parts, has lots of moving parts and hatches that can open or hide the peg holes, with brilliant engineering. He comes with
2 pairs of hands, a
flying drone which can be attached to
Metalhead's shell so he can hover over him, a
drill arm attachment that opens into a laser firing weapon with
laser effect, a
vacuum cleaner arm attachment, a
jerrycan (
for when he's thirsty!), a
chest attachment with a
laser effect, and
6 firing missiles, complete with
bendy smoke effects to attach them to 6 parts of his shell that open, to make it look like he's firing in all directions, which is
THE COOLEST (plus, the usual
base and
stand).
Donatello would be so proud! The figure itself looks great, it quite heavy and has decent articulations, including his mouth, but those accessories take it to a whole new level. I'd say both those figures might be early contender for
Top 10 list, easy.

There was still a
Roadkill Rodney robot set and the
Party Wagon scheduled to come out soon after those, and I was waiting to have all in hand before posting a review, but since the
Party Wagon hasn't come out yet, I went with those for now. There were rumors that
Joy Toy might be done with the license after all those 2025 items were out (
after 24 figures and one vehicle in a year, which is pretty amazing to begin with), but they recently announced the robot versions of
Bebop and
Rocksteady (
Super Bebop and Mighty Rocksteady), so I guess that the rumors of the death of the
Joy Toy TMNT line were greatly exaggerated.
More to come! YAY!
