Fext Hobby Acid Rain x Toys"R"Us - Thane (Funburst Edition) 1/12 Scale Figure Review and Images

It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the Acid Rain x Toys"R"Us collab Thane (Funburst Edition) action figure from Fext Hobby! I had heard great things about the Acid Rain 1/12 scale figures and had been wanting to get my hands on those, and when they announced a special edition figure for the 40th anniversary of Toys"R"Us, I couldn't resist! Look at those pretty colors!

The Acid Rain line has been known for their great 1/18 scale figures, and they started a 1/12 scale line with Fext Hobby only recently, a first wave of 6 figures which was met with rave reviews. The figures have great articulations, feel great in hand and come with a ton of accessories. Adding a Toys"R"Us vibe to it could only make it better! I believe it is exclusive to Toys"R"Us stores in Hong Kong, and is available for their 40th anniversary. Like many in the toy community, I have fond memories of Toys"R"Us, and I have even worked at a Toys"R"Us when I was younger for a few summers and a couple of christmas seasons. I still have friends in the community that I met there back then (salut Seb!), so this was a no-brainer.





Thane (Funburst edition) comes with a removable helmet and exo-skeleton parts (on his back, arm and legs) along with 2 shoulder canons, a pistol, 2 rifles, and 4 connection parts (to hide the peg holes when you remove the exo-skeleton). It's great because he is wearing the exact same uniform that we wore when working at Toys"R"Us. I swear! I remember the exoskeleton being a pain in the butt to put on, before going to grab boxes in the warehouse. The rifles did come in handy during christmas season though, when stressed-out parents can be very mean!
















The rumors were true: that figure does not disappoint. On top of being a fun Toys"R"Us item, Thane has great articulations and can be put in all sorts of military/tactical poses. I also like that all his weapons can be attached to his armor/exoskeleton. The colors really pop on a shelf. This figure came out really great. Geoffrey would be so proud! Happy anniversary, Toys"R"Us!
