Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Deluxe Hound Video Review & Images

The Siege is on for Hasbro's new line of G1 pre-Earth based Transformers toys for 2019. When I first saw these in-hand during the San Diego and New York Comic Cons, I have to say I was pretty impressed overall. Getting our favorite Autobot and Decepticon characters in their per-Earth modes, similar to what we saw in the original first episode of the G1 cartoon was quit intriguing. That is how the new War for Cybertron: Siege line was described to me as though I am still not sure why most the Autobot's look like Earth based vehicles with rubber wheels. I believe Hasbro thought kids wouldn't want space like looking vehicles for their Autobots.

The new Deluxe Hound figure is so far the only Siege toy I have picked up and overall I think it is a pretty solid toy making a nice tribute to the original G1 Hound toy. Like with the original Hound, this one still transforms from robot to army jeep. Even the headsculpt is in pretty good keeping with that of the original, and I like the little details like the army stars on his shoulders and mid-section.

You get a rifle, rocket launcher and spare tire all of which can be used individually or combined to form a single weapon.

The packaging is pretty similar to the previous Generations with the window box. The big difference is you have the Siege logo at the bottom. You get some nice artwork on the side and a look at the toy and it's features on the back.

The transformation process from robot to vehicle is not quit as simple as I was expecting, but not super difficult either. Some of the instructions aren't super clear so I had to play around with it a little the first time transforming him. I am by no means an expert at transforming these things but it only took me about 5 minutes to figure things out the first time.

Articulation in robot mode is pretty basic and it is a little difficult to get him in any kind of two handed rifle holding poses due to single hinged like elbows and such a wide torso area. Still I had fun with him posing him around.

The wheels role pretty good in vehicle mode and he actually looks like a jeep which is nice.

Scale wise I am sure he will fit in nicely with the other Siege Transformers toys, but I was hoping he would be a little taller so he would fit in better with my Masterpiece toys.

At the end of the day, if you are a G1 fan who has been waiting for a modern solid Hound figure, I think this one will be worth you checking out.

The wave with this figure has started to see release. You can purchase this figure now at Megalopolis.Toys. Check out more images for the figure below and let us know what you think about it in the COMMENTS SECTION below.

It's odd that they say this is a Cybertron Mode when it looks a lot like an Earth Vehicle. It's an Army Jeep afterall. I don't really care in the end as I think it's an excellent figure. I picked this one up along with most of the first wave last week at Target. Hasbro definitely upped their game on this line. Everything is higher quality than the past few years Generations lines. Joints are nice and tight, and the figures just feel more substantial and weighty.

Hound looks good

This mold looks great!

I was hoping this would be a bit taller than the previous CHUG Hound though and not shorter

Great review!

I'm excited for Siege to drop...but I am still scratching my head as to why they have the Autobots in earth mode vehicles! That's why I LOVE War and Fall of Cybertron and the War Within looks, I've always preferred their off earth alts to the earth ones (the futuristic ones are cool though). Hound looks stellar and I'll grab him. Prime looks good in robot form...but that truck has me felling some kind of way. Hopefully a Decepticon can get reviewed so I can see how that stacks up
