Sinestro was once a distinguished agent of the Green Lantern Corps, chosen to patrol space sector 1417 as its power ring wielding Green Lantern. Instead, Sinestro took control of his homeworld of Korugar and turned it into a police state. After his abuse of power was made known, he was banished to the anti-matter universe. Now armed with a yellow power ring and allied with the Qwardians as well as his own army known as the Sinestro Corps, this fallen warrior is now the Green Lantern’s greatest foe!
Appearance
Sinestro has a new slimmer and shorter body sculpt from the generic DCUC body sculpt as on Green Lantern. The body is generally smooth and without obvious joints. A plus is that the shoulders are not oversized like on other figures. A drawback is that the body is noticeably shorter than the generic body. Also the belt sticks out too far and looks unnatural. The body is well proportioned though and looks good. The body looks like it’s almost in a different style, but fits in ok with DCUC figures. The face sculpt is superb though. The angry scowl, sculpted arched eyebrows and lines in his face are a nice contrast to the firm determination on Hal’s face.
There’s hardly any detailing on the figure except for the face, where there is a ton. He could use some texture changes, like with the blue around the neck, because the body gives off a hard plastic look. The paint application is generally good, but there are a few sloppy areas on mine. Overall there’s more problems than I’m used to with a DCUC figure, but he still looks great.
Articulation
Sinestro has standard DCUC joints and range of motion. The head has poor range of motion. It looks up hardly up or down. Everything else works fine an he has decent balance.
Poseability
The most noticeable thing posed with Green Lantern is the height difference. While up to personal taste whether this bothers you or not, visually it does add some variety to have a shorter character. For his best poses he needs a flight stand, but he does have a few good ones with his feet on the ground. Overall he’ll look best with other figures, be it villains or against Hal Jordan.
Final Judgment: 6
Sinestro just isn’t as impressive as other figures in this line. There is a lack of texture on the body, and the lack of head motion was disappointing. He’s still a good figure, but not quite up to the quality as figures like Aquaman.
