Appearance
Lobo has a new sculpt, which Despero will share. The proportions are generally good, although the chest is very wide. It’s not very noticeable with the vest though. There are a lot of details to make this figure look great. In addition to the normal sculpted muscles of DCUC, the vest is textured, waves are sculpted in the hair, and even the stars on his knees are sculpted in. There’s also a paint wash on the skin to avoid a hard plastic look. The textures on this figure are excellent and help give him a more realistic look.
None of the joints are obvious or ugly. The face sculpt is probably the best out of the line yet, which is not a generic face and is realistic. The paint application is also excellent, with no problems on mine. This is one of those figures where the pictures speak for themselves. Lobo looks excellent in person and in photos, and goes great on display.
Articulation
Lobo has standard DCUC joints and articulation. The torso wont bend backward, but will bend forward. For some reason the chain is permanently attached to his arm. The head has terrible range of motion because of the hair. The belt also limits movement in the legs. He has good balance though.
Poseability
It is hard to pose Lobo in dynamic poses. The huge gun is a bit unwieldy, and the lack of head and leg movement makes him hard to pose. He looks great just standing next to other figures though. Lobo is better for display than fighting poses.
Final Judgment: 8
For me the visual appearance trumps the articulation problems. Lobo isn’t an agile character, so I can forgive the posing problems. He’s one of the most detailed figures in the line, and combined with his size makes him one of my favorite figures.
