The Predator Ultimate 7" Fugitive Predator Figure Review & Images

A new Predator movie is just on the horizon, and NECA is releasing new figures based on it. The first figure is called the Fugitive Predator which is part of the 7” Ultimate line.

The packaging is pretty typical for the Ultimate line with the front flap opening to reveal an image on one side and the actual figure in a window box on the other. The front of the box features the movie title and an image of the Fugitive Predator. The back of the box shows images of the figure and the various accessories. There is also a brief bio about the movie. One thing a little different on the box is how prominently the 17+ age restriction is featured on the front. I can’t help but think this might be due to the recent presence of NECA products on Target shelves.

For the figure itself, it is nicely detailed as most NECA Predator figures are. It does seem to be a little taller than previous Predators figures, however that might be intentional since these new guys being genetically enhanced.

The figure features two different head sculpts, a masked and unmasked one. The masked one features a dark metallic metal mask with black glossy looking eyes and some gold on the nose. The head sculpt features typical Predator dreads for the hair, and he seems to feature reddish skin under the mask.

The unmasked head features an open mouth, and I really like the sculpting detail with the inner mouth and jaw. There is also a lot of detailing with the ridges on the forehead and the coloring is really nice.

The shoulder and chest silver armor pieces are separate pieces. The shoulder pieces are made with a rubber-like material and features an articulated shoulder cannon on the right side. The chest armor has some nice texturing and the detailing on the back is very nice. The armor pieces that cover the stomach and lower back are a softer material than the rest of the mid-section armor. The amor over the crotch is made with a rubber material as well.

The figure features alternate lower arms. One set has sculpted armor gauntlets allowing you to attach two blades on each arm. The blades are made with a thin plastic made to look like metal. They look different and a bit deadlier than the older Predator wrist bladed weapons. Each blade has a tab that fits in slits on the gauntlets. Overall they look good but can sometimes be knocked loose easily when handling the figure. These lower arms have closed fists.

The second set of lower arms are bare and have nice paint applications for the skin. These arms feature open hands. You can switch out the hands and switch them up between the two different sets of arms.

The upper legs feature separate thigh armor plates which look good on the figure but do tend to slide down on the legs when the figure is handled. The armor pieces on the lower legs are sculpted on, and the Predator has no shoes. The netting on the legs and mid-section are sculpted on.

The articulation is decent on the figure with features like double-hinge elbows and knees that also rotate. You get thigh swivels, ankle-pivot, waist swivel and mid-section rotation that allows for a decent range of motion. My only minor complaint here is that it seems like the joints might get pretty loose over time.

All-in-all I would say this is a solid figure. If you are a fan of NECA’s Predators or the new movie, then I think you will want to check this one out. Look for it on shelves now. This figure is available at Megalopolis Toys.
