Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Batman: The Killing Joke. The release will be available for purchase on August 6th. In addition to the standard release, the studio will have available a Deluxe Edition with exclusive Joker Figurine.

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment‘s direct-to-video animated adaptation of the Alan Moore and Brian Bolland graphic novel has been marked by the MPAA with an "R" rating for the DC Comics graphic novel’s violent, controversial story, and making the film the first non-PG/PG-13 rated movie in the nine-year history of the DC Universe Original Movie franchise.
Closely following Moore's original and often explicit narrative, "Batman: The Killing Joke" is a Joker-centric tale that explores, through flashbacks, the supervillain's early roots as a failed comedian and family man, who after "one bad day" is driven insane.
Batman: The Killing Joke stars the voices of Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne and Star Wars' Mark Hamill as the voice of the Joker. Also features the voices of veteran character actor Ray Wise as Commissioner Gordon and voice actress Tara Strong as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.
