Here are some new images for NECA's upcoming first series of figures based on the Resident Evil 5 video game.

A brand new series based on the latest installment in the #1 rated survival horror video game franchise, Resident Evil! This series brings the return of Chris Redfield, his new partner Sheva, and the villain Executioner. Each figure stands 7" tall and comes with game accurate weapons and accessories. Chris and Sheva are highly poseable and can re-enact many of their signature action moves.

After playing the RE 5 demo with 2 levels, I've got to say, this game is awesome! The only thing that still bothers me about NECA's RE 5 Series 1 figure is that Sheva Alomar sculpt. Seeing the prototype images makes me sad. Sheva doesn't look even remotely like Sheva in the game. I fear another Jill Valentine outcome. Chris Redfield and the Executioner look badass though.

The game looks super intense. I bought an Xbox 360 primarily to play RE5, and I've had to wait longer than I thougth. Chris Redfield really beefed up and the figure reflects that. I'm not so sure I like him so buff. I liked him when he was more of a average joe.

I agree that it's weird that there are only 3 figures for wave 1. I'm betting there will be at least 4, but maybe the fourth will spoil the plot if they reveal it in advance......maybe it's Wesker!

they really need to work on making their chicks face sculpts look better and hotter for that matter.. they always come out looking very blah... their monster sculpts on the other hand always rock my socks...

Sculpting monster faces is [probably] a heck of lot easier than sculpting human faces (especially female faces). After all monsters already look "ugly" (lol). I just hope that the Sheva sculpt improves before its' release (looking at her prototype face reminds me of the Jill Valentine sculpt ::shudder: .

Yeah i know thats why toybiz and even hasbro have such hard times making their female figures look remotely attractive if at all less manlike. Making a female figure look right is a helluva lot harder to do then say a locust from gears of war that already looks like a scaley hairless ape.

I feel the same way that you do about the proto sheva sculpt in your comment. Its the main reason i never bought jill. I wanted her figure but the final came out making her look more like a feminine boy than a hot kickass chick that she is.

Hahaha... Sheva looking more like a feminine boy, that's probably closer to the truth than I'd like to acknowledge. Still... after seeing the sculpt of Chris Redfield and the extra articulation, it's really hard for me to say no. I still have mine pre-ordered, although if they sell them individually, Chris would be all I'd get. I just hope Chris can actually hold onto his knife unlike his previous plastic incarnation. And I also hope they continue this RE 5 line with a WESKER figure. hahaha, like that will happen. Also, you're lucky you didn't get the Jill figure. It was really bad. A few collectors here thought she looked alright, but sorry guys, it doesn't resemble THE Jill Valentine from the games. After all this time, you'd think some company would get it right. But then again, NECA is a "work in progress" type of company (as seen in their added articulation in other figures). ::shrug::

Not liking the character designs here. Love resident evil but will probably pass.

Chris & the Executioner look awesome. Sheva is ok, nothing too special.

Been waiting for too long for this news. From the video interview with Randy, he did show off the new sculpt of Chris Redfield. Finally some new knee joints (and hidden from view thanks to those kneepads). The prototype photos of the figures sufacing on the net look okay (Sheva's face doesn't look too good). I pray we'll be offered non-rehashed accesories and hopefully better display stands. And since it's "Series 01", hopefully we'll see an insanely evil Wesker figure somewhere down the line.

April seems like a long time.
