NECA 7" Ultimate Terminator 2 3D T-800 Figure Review & Image Gallery

NECA celebrates Terminator 2 returning to theaters in 3D to celebrate its 25th anniversary with this new 7” Ultimate T-800 figure. Look for this figure on shelves now at places like BigBadToyStore.com.

The figure comes in window-box packaging with the figure clearly displayed along with its accessories. The movie logo, character name and an image of Arnold from the movie are displayed near the bottom. On the back, several images of the figure show off the accessories and a brief bio.

Opening the box and removing the figure, the nice detail and solid paint applications can be seen immediately.

The figure comes with a number of accessories including a shotgun, pistol, flower box and two different head sculpts.

The paint applications on both weapons are really detailed so they look just like the ones from the movie, and the flower box is made with a gold metallic cardboard and can be opened to store the shotgun as seen in the movie. Be careful not to smash the box since it is made from actual cardboard.

The two head sculpts look exactly like Arnold Schwarzenegger as he appeared in the movie. One head sculpt features him with sunglasses, the other without.

The figure features the T-800 in the biker outfit worn throughout most of the movie. The leather jacket, a separate piece from the figure, is made with a vinyl-like material but the sleeves of the jacket are actually sculpted. I like the paint application here making the jacket really look like leather. I also like all the bullet holes included since he does get shot up a lot during the film. The shirt underneath is just black, and the pants are also made to look like leather, just as they appeared in the movie. There is even some nice sculpting detail on the shoes, my figure appears to be sporting two left feet. I would guess this is only an issue on my figure. In all honestly it is hardly even noticeable, but I did want to point that out for the sake of the review.

If you are wondering, you can take other head sculpts from previous NECA Terminator figures and use them on this one. The battle-damaged head from the Terminator 1 Police Station figure works especially well.

The figure stands just over 7” tall and features a nice range of movement with its articulation. The head attaches at the bottom of the neck with a ball-joint to provide decent up and down as well as side-to-side movement. The arms attach with a ball-hinge joint and have single-hinged swivel elbow joints. The hands attach with ball joints for rotation and decent up and down movement. The figure does not have an ab crunch joint but does have a waist swivel. The legs attach with ball-hinged joints as well allowing the splits and a fair amount of forward and back motion. Do use some caution when moving the legs forward and back. The crotch piece on the figure is made with a rubber type material which can become a little stretched if you move the legs too much. The legs also include a thigh swivel, single-hinged swivel knee joints, boot-cuff swivel and ankle swivel. The feet can rotate, move up and down and allow some rocking movement, but not a true ankle pivot. The feet contain two peg-holes on the bottom.

In the end, the only really downside to this figure is that NECA didn’t include a 7” scale motorcycle with it so you could re-create the scene in the movie. The sculpting and paint applications are top-notch, and the figure has decent articulation and nice accessories. Check out more images for this figure below in our GALLERY!
