Hasbro Lays Off 170 Workers

by Jay Cochran
March 06, 2012
Hasbro today laid off 170 employees worldwide with 55 of the layoffs taking place at their Rhode Island headquarters. According to company spokesman Wayne Charness the layoffs were made because of "underperformance" in Hasbro's U.S. and Canadian divisions, which are under new leadership as well as a need for different skill sets in the workforce.

Charness went on to say that the layoffs are part of an effort to "return this business to historical levels of profitability and growth."
