James Frain Joins 'Star Trek: Discovery' As 'Sarek'

Acclaimed British actor James Frain has been cast as Sarek, the famed Vulcan father of Spock, in Star Trek: Discovery, the newest CBS All Access original series. First introduced in the original Star Trek, "Sarek" has made multiple appearances throughout the franchise over the last five decades.

Frain joins previously announced stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Rapp, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif, and Mary Chieffo.

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Alex Kurtzman's Secret Hideout, Bryan Fuller's Living Dead Guy Productions and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller, Heather Kadin, Gretchen J. Berg & Aaron Harberts, Akiva Goldsman, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth will serve as executive producers.
