FOX has decided to cancel Lucifer after three seasons.

The series started in midseason 2016 and earned a second-season renewal, a Season 2 back order and an early Season 3 renewal — all within nine months and ran head-to-head in the ratings with its higher-profile, bigger-budget Monday lead-in Gotham, both averaging a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating in Live+Same Day and and 1.9 in L+7.

The series was based on the comic book characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo and starred Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez and Kevin Alejandro.

The series is executive-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Joe Henderson, Ildy Modrovich, Sheri Elwood and KristieAnne Reed.

Tom Ellis shared the news and his feelings on Twitter followed by Joe Henderson talking about the season finale and asking Lucifer fans to make some noise about the cancellation.
