September 08, 2013
On February 2, 2014, Super Bowl XLVIII makes its way back to New York/New Jersey! To celebrate this long overdue homecoming – Super Bowl has not been played in New York metro area since 1962 – McFarlane Toys will be releasing two decorated quarterbacks who know how to win in the Big Apple!

JOE NAMATH – NEW YORK JETS QB
Joe Namath has finally arrived! After many years of anticipation one of the greatest and most iconic NFL players of all time will be making his McFarlane SportsPicks debut!

"Broadway Joe" made a name for himself as a member of the New York Jets, leading the team to an incredible upset victory over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. The Hall of Fame quarterback had style and flair on and off the field. Known as one of the smartest quarterbacks of all time, Namath was the first quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards (1967). His inaugural figure depicts the legend during the 70's era, surveying the field, wearing his trademark Jets green jersey.

ELI MANNING – NEW YORK GIANTS QB
There may be no quarterback family with quite the same star power and credentials as the Mannings. Of all the passers in family history, Eli Manning stands at the top as the only member who has won multiple Super Bowls. Seeing as how Super Bowl XLVIII is in New York, we thought it was only fitting to commemorate Eli's first ever Super Bowl victory. In Super Bowl XLII, Manning led a late comeback against the New England Patriots, finding Plaxico Burress in the end zone with under a minute to play to win the game. Manning threw for 255 yards and 2 TD's to be named the game MVP for the first time in his career. His figure is depicted just like he looked in the game, sporting the Super Bowl XLII patch.

These figures will be available at Toys ‘R’ Us and specialty stores this January…Just in time for Super Bowl XLVIII!
