I'm not going to reopen this threat but I want to make this point clear and frankly it's sad that it has to be made clear to some of you.
Saying you don't think the casting choice is a good one is not racist.
Using the rights latest political catch phrase of DEI which suggests the person was only hired because of their ethnicity and therefore automatically is not qualified is racist.
And yes there very much is a difference between the two statements.
I personally know nothing about this actress so I don't know if she is a good actress who could pull off Teela or not. At first glance she doesn't look much like Teela from the cartoon but then neither did the actress used in the original He-Man movie. I personally have my doubts this movie will actually happen so it's probably moot anyway, but surely you all have enough common sense and respect for one another to be able to discuss something like this without being insulting???
I'm going to say this one time. If you don't like a casting decision, that's one thing. Throwing around terms in a derogatory and racist way is another and a quick ticket to a suspension or ban.I'm going to lock this thread because I can't monitor it all night. If @JayCwants to open it back up in the morning, so that more eyes can be on it. He will.
If this movie would've been based entirely on Eternia, instead of most of it on Earth as they've claimed I'd actually be hyped. Earth has no place in MOTU. More universes, great. Earth, not so good, and the reason the first movie wasn't so good in the first place. I still watch it sometimes, but I'm a MOTU junky. Still not hyped about this like I was the last cartoon before it came out. Mainly because it was based where every single MOTU cartoon was based,Eternia or Eternia adjacent.
I will never expect good things coming from live action MOTU. As long as Mondo gets a 3 year minimum run on the 200X stuff, I don't care if Orko is played by Pauly Shore.
He-Man is blond.Nicholas Galitzine is not. This is a terrible casting choice as it does not match the source material.
See how dumb that sounds?
The casting choice does not match the source material. It's not racist to point out that fact.

This is such an embarrassing take. Keep racist trash like this off TNI.
And, btw, Scarlett would've been a terrible choice. She turns 40 in November - she's old enough to be Teela's mom.

OK.... I enjoyed her in Riverdale but can't really visualize her as Teela. Camila would have been better cast as Evil Lyn, in my opinion.
Her Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart likely could have been a decent Teela however. Not saying that she would have been my first choice, but just sticking with the Riverdale theme.
The way things have gone on this live action property means that this movie will likely never happen anyway.
