Hasbro has resumed taking pre-orders on new products on their
HasbroPulse website.
Last Friday it seemed as if
Hasbro was going to be raising the U.S. MSRP on many of their action figures due to Tariffs but instead made pre-orders on their website unavailable.
Trade talks between the U.S. and China took place over this past weekend and on Monday it was announced that their would be a 90 day hold placed on the Tariffs between the two countries. There is still a 10% and 20% tariff on products produced in China, but it is much lower than the 145% tariffs we saw last week. Trade talks between the two countries are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
This morning
Hasbro resumed the pre-orders on their own website without any new price hikes. Whether that will change anytime soon is still unknown at this time.
We have noted that
Gamestop yesterday raised prices on many recent Hasbro pre-orders to the amounts we had reported were supposed to be coming
last week. As of this report they are the only retailer that seems to have raised prices and it is possible that perhaps Gamestop is going off old information and may soon lower them again.
As we have previously mentioned when reporting on the tariff situation and it's effects on the toy industry, it is a fluid situation due to all the uncertainty that has been going on, so things could change at anytime. We of course will continue to update you as things develop.
