UPDATE 2: The price here in the US has been confirmed as being $24.99 and it looks like these will be taller than normal Multiverse figures standing around 6.2" tall as opposed to 6". Click here for more details.

UPDATE: Some have noted the Canadian price is likely to be higher than the US price. The initial price reported when the images leaked suggested the price for these would be $30, but perhaps they to were referring to the Canadian price. Since Mattel has yet to provide any official information on these, it is hard to say for sure.

Taking the actual price of $28.97 shown in Canada for these and adjusting for Canada inflation, that would make the price around $23.18 before taxes here in the US. That is certainly better than the initial $30 price we heard before, but the initial point I made below that we really aren't seeing anything here that sets the figures above other 6" figures on the market that cost $20 remains the same. Many DC fans who have been hungry for better articulated figures from Mattel will likely pay the extra cost but that doesn't change the fact that Mattel's competitors are giving their customers more for their money, assuming in fact they do end up costing more when they see release in the US.

Shown below are some new in-hand images showing off Mattel's first two figures in their 6" DC Multiverse Premium line.

From Future_Flash1 comes some out of the package shots of the John Wesley Shipp TV Series Flash figure. We can see the face sculpt is actually quit good and the figure sports better articulation than a regular multiverse figure. We assume this is the main reason the figure costs $10 more than a normal Multiverse one. The figure has double jointed elbows and knees as well as hinges on the hands. Now we would be remiss if we didn't point out that is fairly standard articulation on a Hasbro Marvel Legends figure which still only costs $20.

Mattel has also thrown in a extra hands (again pretty standard on a Marvel Legends) and a display base which really doesn't seem to add much. Unfortunately it looks like we still don't get ankle pivot with these nor is their any kind of Collect-And-Connect figure pieces included. (also standard with most Hasbro Marvel Legends).

Thanks to Jemboyken, we have a look at the shelf price tag which does indicate the $30 price tag, at least in Canada. Also we get a look at the back of the packaging for both the Flash and Batman Forever figures. The thing to note here is that the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman which was featured in the original leaked image from a few weeks ago is not present on the shelves or on the back of the packaging for these two figures. This would seem to indicate that she is not being released in the first wave.

It is UNCLEAR if these figures are being sold as Walmart exclusives or if they will be sold everywhere. Right now they seem to only be showing up on the shelves of Canadian Walmarts, which is a trend we have seen often with the Walmart exclusive Multiverse figures. There however does not appear to be any kind of Walmart exclusive sticker featured on the packaging which we sometimes see for their exclusives.

We have tried reaching out to Mattel several times since initial word of these broke, but they have yet to respond, which is not uncommon. We likely won't see any official info on these until Toy Fair next month.

The UPC for these will be 887961605518.
