CHICAGO, IL -- --
G.I.Joe: Master and Apprentice #1, the latest offering from Devil's Due Publishing has completely sold out at the distributor level. The first issue of the miniseries, which reveals the origin of Snake-Eyes' popular apprentice, Kamakura, actually sold out in less than forty-eight hours of its release, just as the bulk of Devil's Due Publishing administration were leaving for the Wizard World East convention.
"We wanted to wait until we had a second printing set up before making the announcement, which I'm happy to say is ready to go," said DDP Production manager, Marshall Dillon.
Fans at the Wizard World East show were able to snag copies of the convention exclusive version of the hard to find comic book, but now it will be available in a "line art" version of the Stefano Caselli piece.
Devil's Due staff and the creative team would like to thank the readers for supporting this new mini-series, which was already expanded from three to four issues due to positive response. DDP sees this as a great book for both hardcore fans and those on the outside looking for a peek into the martial arts side of the G.I.Joe universe.
The Master and Apprentice 2nd printing is now available for ordering, through comic book shops nationwide. Diamond Order Code APR045160 E GI JOE MASTER & APPRENTICE #1 REPRINT CVR (C: 4) (PU #625). Diamond will begin accepting orders on Monday, May 31st.
The ongoing series, G.I.JOE: A Real American Hero continues to pick up steam as well, and features a back-up story by Aspen Studios (Fathom, Superman) introducing a new villain to the mythos, available starting in June.
