Effective August 27, the Playstation 2 will cost 104 pounds ($190) and the X-Box will cost 99 poiunds (approx. $180). No word for why Sony didn't match the price cut done by Microsoft, like it normally does. The difference makes the Playstation 2 to be the most expensive console in Europe, dispite being the oldest. Both are hoping for the kind of spike in sales Microsot saw when it lowered the price of the X-Box to $149.99 in the US in March of this year.
