Continuing with this week's theme of evolving the business model behind games and music moving closer together, Electronic Arts today announced that New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey and rapper--yes, rapper--Xzibit will lend their visages to the cover of the publisher's upcoming NFL Street 2.
Shockey is an appropriate cover athlete for the in-your-face extreme sports title as his off-field antics have garnered as much press as his on-field accomplishments. As well, Xzibit, host of MTV's Pimp My Ride, is featured in the game as a new character that shows gamers how to "play the game."
New additions to this year's game include Prince of Persia-esque wall climbs, 10 new environments, and Xbox Live support.
NFL Street 2 takes the field December 26 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube. The game is rated "E" for Everyone and has an SRP of $49.99.
