NECA TMNT: The Last Ronin - The Lost Years Nightwatcher Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Casey Jones Review and Images

It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the TMNT: The Last Ronin - The Lost Years Nightwatcher Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Casey Jones from NECA! What I thought were just easy repaints turned out to be a little bit more than that, with little tweaks here and there on some to totally different parts on others! A very 'noir' review, with comparison pics with the Last Ronin versions!

First, what are Nightwatchers? Well, in the comic book 'TMNT: The Last Ronin - The Lost Years', Grammy April is telling the 4 new kid turtles about what happened before the events of The Last Ronin. In one part, she explains that after Raphael was the 'First to Fall', the remaining turtles, Casey Jones and April banded together to avenge Raph and uncover secrets from their past (I have seen multiple posts on Facebook and Reddit asking when is the Raphael Nightwatcher figure coming out, and I strongly advise to read the comic book ^^). Those outfits appear on litteraly one single panel (shown below) and NECA based those figures on those.

Leonardo comes with 2 heads, 4 pairs of hands, his katanas and throwing knives that can be attached to his belt. The normal version was already a great figure and this Nightwatcher version is equally great. The new parts on him are the spiked knee pads and shin guards, along with the different cape (the original one was shredded while this one is full).














Michelangelo comes with 2 heads, 3 pairs of hands and his nunchucks. He has a completely different torso 'overall' part, where the normal version had a more 'tactical' outfit with protective plates, while this one has some sort of hooded jacket. The red highlights really pop on all those figures. For the pictures, I put the background in black and white, but the figures are actually 'in color', which I thought ended up looking pretty great.














Casey Jones is the one that looks the most different from the Last Ronin one. He comes with 2 heads, 4 pairs of hands, a cape with separate hood, 2 baseball bats, one sledgehammer and one cricket bat. He looks really good with the cape, even if the hood doesn't hold very well on his head and falls off if you move the figure. The arms and legs are the same, but the rest is all new parts. The new unmasked head has the mask attached to it. I think the mask is also different, and looks amazing in black.
















Last but not least, Donatello comes with 2 heads, 4 pairs of hands and his bo staff. The Nightwatcher version has a longer kimono, and the hats are different. The original one's hat was a separate part with a chin strap to hold it, while those ones are attached on each heads. One of the heads is also different (screaming, while the other one just showed teeth).
