We continue to countdown to the opening of Star Trek: Nemesis, which opens this Friday 13 with this latest bit of news from Sideshow Toy.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – December 9, 2002 --- Sideshow Toy is pleased to announce that it has secured the rights from Paramount Studios to produce an expansive range of limited edition, collectible polystone busts for the extremely popular Star Trek franchise. The license will allow Sideshow to produce collectibles from the entire Star Trek universe including all film releases as well as each TV Series under the Sideshow Collectibles program.

This incredible collectible series will launch in March 2003 with the release of two of the most unforgettable characters ever, Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and Spock (Leonard Nimoy). These will no doubt be 'must-haves' for Star Trek fans worldwide. Sideshow plans to introduce the entire bridge crew from the original Star Trek series to collectors in 2003.

The second Star Trek collection will feature the most popular characters from "The Next Generation." Scheduled for release in May of 2003 will be Captain Picard and Lt. Commander Data. This collection will continue with the release of the most popular characters from "The Next Generation bridge crew including Lt. Geordi La Forge and Lt. Worf in 2003, and continue into January 2004 with the release of Commander Riker and Lt. Commander Troi.

Sideshow also has plans for several limited edition "web exclusives" that will be available only at www.sideshowtoy.com. Already on the schedule of web exclusives are select Trek crew members including Lt. Uhura and Dr. Beverly Crusher. In the past year, Sideshow has set a benchmark standard in the production of polystone figures, which bring a new level of detail and accuracy to their work. Sculpted by Master Sculptor, Oluf Hartvigson, each collectible bust stands approximately 7 inches tall on a beautifully designed base. Each figure is individually numbered on the bottom of the base and includes the sculptor's printed signature. Each limited edition bust will range between 4,000 - 6,000 pieces with a suggested retail price of $40.

Sideshow will debut its Star Trek collectible line up at their booth at the New York International Toy Fair, February 16th through 19th, 2003. Booth #1981, Level 3.

Star Trek collectibles will be available in comic, collector and specialty stores around the country, and are also available directly at www.sideshowtoy.com.
