I'll probably get this. Not a big fan of the MOTUC line but I think I will get a Skeletor, Faker and probably a Triclops and Kobra Kahn as those are my favs.

Man-At-Arms does seem to be rather careless with his old technology-- maybe that's how the Widgets got to be a nuclear power!

The lost soul angle is also a great idea, especially if at one time Faker thought he was the real He-Man, onlyto later on find out he wasn't and feeling dejected, and angered because he feel as if he is Eternia's true
champion or even involving a story subplot which shows him trying to usurp Skeletor and showing a divide
amongst the evil warriors which results in a full scale war among the villains, which doesn't even include He-Man
or the other masters.

Depicts Faker roaming around Eternia as a rogue as you've suggested and be sort of like an anti-hero
or opportunist, perhaps even being a merc for hire and even starting his own group of warriors.
Exactly. There are all sorts of emotions that can go with Faker being created rather than being born and growing up like everyone else. Maybe he thinks he's the true He-Man and the other is a clone of himself. Maybe he feels inadequate because he knows he's not the original. Maybe he thinks he can do a better job than the real He-Man. Maybe he's not quite right in the head because of the process by which he was created. The list goes on and on...
So yesMattel did take the least interesting route, which was why I was hoping that the 2002 cartoon would have taken
that opportunity to explore him and recreate him into something more. Faker is what I considered a missed
opportunity on all fronts.
Same here. He seems to be one of the most popular characters, and they had a blank slate to write a new history for him, and they totally missed the boat.
It's not that big of a deal, but I hope the trend doesn't continue. MOTU has as much potential as any of the other really popular properties, so Mattel should capitalize on the opportunity to realize that potential with MOTUC.
I envisioned Skeletor creating Faker using He-Man's DNA but casting Faker out since he came out blue (he'd have no use for a He-Man lookalike that doesn't look like He-Man). I also envisioned Faker not feeling like he had a place in the world because of his creator not wanting him and thus would roam Eternia as a lost soul.There are all sorts of things that could be done with Faker, and I feel like Mattel did the least interesting, most unimaginative thing they could think of.

Adult story arcs on par with cartoons such as JLU. With the plethora of characters in MOTU lore
why confine it to He-Man and friends vs Skeletor and his minions? Why not expand on that world and characters?
Not saying it has to shift the focus on He-Man as the main character, but it doesn't have to be exclusively about him, it is afterall
called Masters of the universe. Should there ever be a cartoon revival I firmly believe that taking it to this level will not
only thrill us old school fans but bring in new fans too.
Anyway, sorry about the long winded response, just a simple fan that can see the vast possibilities for this sort of line and story.
My sentiments exactly Eric. I to would have loved for a new Faker bio and perhaps give some sortof substance to his character. During the time when the MYP MOTU series was on I always figured
that Faker would get a chance to be more than just a mere evil robotic double of He-Man.
Perhaps he could have been a cyborg created with the combined dna components of He-Man(explaining the physical resemblance) and Skeletor
(which would explain his blue skin and chosen armor) and also him being Skeletor's second in command, with him and Skeletor sharing some
warped father and son relationship. It would be an interesting parallel to He-Man being the son of Randor.
Excellent ideas, and I would have much preferred them to what Mattel has chosen to go with.
I always wanted something similar to what you've suggested, but I wanted Faker to be a clone and not robotic at all. I really like the part-He-Man, part-Skeletor aspect, as it does explain the blue skin. Perhaps Skeletor wanted He-Man's look but his own evil nature so that's why he'd add himself to the ingredient list. I also like your suggestion of Faker being second in command and having a warped relationship with Skeletor.
