NECA Ultimate Beetlejuice (The Bio-Exorcist), Beetlejuice (Striped Suit) and Beetlejuice (Wedding Tuxedo) Review and Images

This week, we're having a look at the 3 Ultimate figures from NECA, Ultimate Beetlejuice (The Bio-Exorcist), Ultimate Beetlejuice (Striped Suit) and Ultimate Beetlejuice (Wedding Tuxedo)! Oh no, I've accidentally said his name 3 times, help! Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice... That was a close one! I've been a fan of the ghost with the most since I was a kid, seeing the movie and the cartoon at an early age, and I have been wanting new figures of Michael Keaton's infamous character for a long time. Thanks to the new movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, a lot of merch popped up and we got new NECA Ultimate Beetlejuice figures! (Oh crap! Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!) Let's turn on the juice... and see what shakes loose!

There hasn't been a ton of Beetlejuice toys since the 1988 movie. I remember having some of the Kenner figures as a kid, which were fun but didn't really look like in the movie, then NECA did a few figures in 2001 and 2008. Other than that, there were some Burger King kid's meal toys, along with one Loyal Subject BST AXN Beetlejuice figure for the cartoon version (review here!). Fast forward to 2024 when the new movie was announced, and now every toy companies are making Beetlejuice products: NECA, McFarlane Toys, Hot Toys, Mezco Toyz, Bandai,... (we posted an article about this a while ago...) And now, finally, some nice NECA Ultimate Beetlejuice figures from the movie have arrived!



First off, the Bio-Exorcist version. He comes with 2 heads (with and without hats), 4 face plates that work on both heads, 3 pairs of hands, a dead rat, a lantern, a newspaper and a flyer. I like when NECA adds paper accessories to their figures, which is probably cheap to print, and adds easter eggs to figures (like the Delorean blueprints with Doc Brown, ...). Beetlejuice is wearing the outfit he has wearing when he met the Maitlands for the first time (before changing into the same clothes as Alec Baldwin's character). It's a fun figure, but some of the face plates don't have a great likeness, they're all a bit rough, while the other 2 figures have a 'smoother' look. The jacket hinders the leg articulations, but he can still get into fun Beetlejuice poses.

The next 2 figures are from the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie, with the first one being the Striped Suit version, with the classic look any fan immediately think of when they think about Beetlejuice. This figure comes with 2 heads, 3 pairs of hands, a clean version of the Baby Beetlejuice and a flyer about Bio-exorcism. This figure can only have those 2 heads, and the faceplates are not interchangeable, which is a bit of a weird choice. The Baby Beetlejuice figure is articulated (head, arms, hands, legs). This figure is a vast improvement with better sculpt, paint and articulation compared to the old NECA ones from 2008 (which were re-issued recently as well). It's just awesome to have this in hand.

















The Wedding Tuxedo version also looks way better than the 2008 one, and comes with 2 face plates, 9 different hands, a marriage agreement, a heart and a bloody version of the Baby Beetlejuice. The red tuxedo is the same he wore during the ceremony at the end of the first movie, when he tried to marry Lydia to escape the Afterlife. The figure has a ton of great details and the face plates have a better likeness than the Bio-Exorcist one. With the latter's face plates, this brings up to 6 different expressions that can be used with both figures. Keep them coming, NECA!

















NECA has recently announced more figures from the new movie, including a Ultimate Bob figure from the new movie and an Ultimate "Matador" Beetlejuice figure and Sandworm two-pack.
