TNI: Will you be doing an entire DC Universe Classics wave of Legion Of Superheroes in the near future?
Mattel: Nope. We do have plans for the Legion but not as an entire Wave.
TNI: From a scale of 1-10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, how would you rate your customer service on Mattycollector for the past year? We know this is handled by Digital River, but as a second party contractor for Mattel, they still represent the Mattel name, right? We know what collectors think but we would like to hear how you within Mattel rate the service?
Mattel: We do not rate any of our vendors publicly. We do recognize there some ways to better streamline the buying process and we are constantly working with Digital River to improve the customer experience.
TNI: If you where to choose where collectors purchased their DCUC figures from, would you want them buying them at...
a. Mass retailer like Wal-Mart, TRU or Target?
b. Online etailer
c. Mattycollector.com
Mattel: Mattel does not have any official stance on this. We just want to do all we can to make product available and easy to find at the best price.
TNI: The SDCC Platic Man figure packaging is very cool looking, can you tell us who designed it and how they came up with the idea for it?
Mattel: Sure! The package was designed by Fantastic Frank Varela who also did the Man-Bat, Grundy and Wonder Twins package. His idea was to make the package look like Plastic Man was disguised as the blister while visiting SDCC. He used the basic blister shape of a standard DCUC figure and then skinned it as Plastic Man himself!
