MTV Geek talks to writer James Robinson about the new six issue Masters Of The Universe series coming this July from DC comics. This new series, with art by Phillip Tan (pencils) and Ruy Jose (inks), sees an alternate reality ruled by Skeletor, with all of the heroes unaware of their previous existance. Adam is soon sent on a journey by a mysterious sorceress to set things right.

Man there's a lot of hate for Robinson, who's work is generally pretty good. His Golden Age, Starman and even parts of his JLA run were good. Shade's been pretty good and I'm looking forward to Earth 2 next month. I'm get this because of the creative team and the fact that I've always like the MotU characters. I fell that many of the longer term MotU fans will hate this and I'm sort of irked that they've gone with the old "the bad guys won" scenario for the premise of the comic.

Forget the comic let's do a cartoon.

....and keep it away from Cartoon Network

They should do the direct to DVD movies like they are doing with DC Universe

I agree i would prefer direct to dvd movies instead of a failing series..

They should maje a deal with the animators from the DC movies to do these since both are licensed by Matty and the new book will be released by DC

This is awesome news. I hope they do as good a job as Val and Emiliano did with 200X.

Very, VERY doubtful. Especially with James Robinson attached to write.

James Robinson is writing it. It's pretty much guaranteed to suck. Robinson is the Michael Bay of comics.

I agree with superpowers1980, lets do the cartoon...

I'm hoping for a legit Faker story for once. He's always one of the most popular figures, but he never gets included in a meaningful way in the comics or cartoons. It probably won't happen here with only a 6-issue series, but maybe this could lead to an on-going MOTU series.

damn awesome. i cant wait. i knew that dc would do some comics. it was meant to be. with mattel and dc working really close it is no surprise and i hoped for it to. lets see if they do as much variant covers like mvcreations and image did. so happy and i bet that some of my costumers will be more then happy to :-)

didnt marvel had a story like this in the past? i think it was the last two comics marvel published.
