Today at the Masters of the Universe Power-Con convention, Mattel made an ann
ouncement about releasing a new Castle Grayskull playset. based on Mark Taylor's original design and cost $200. Pre-Orders will start in the
Fall on
MattyCollector.com. A min numer pf pre-orders will need to be met for them to actually go through with releasing it though. This was just approved and more details will be made available at Toy Fair. The playset
will not have electronics so they will be able to
ship it Internationally as well.
UPDATE: This will be a non-sculpt pre-order which means people will have to order the product sight unseen.
UPDATE 2: Mattel will have some type of concept art they will show at NYCC or Toy Fair, though the actual product won't go into development till they know they have enough orders to warrant it. So you won't have to pre-order sight unseen. As to how accurate any kind of concept art will be to the final product remains unseen, but people will have something to give them a general idea of what they are buying. Hopefully Mattel will also be able to provide some additional information like size dimensions and maybe even a general idea of what cost of shipping will be for this product as well.
Some new figures were also announced.
Snake-Face (April), Karatti from New Adventures (May) and Octavia (June). Check out some images Mattel sent out in an email today of those three figures below.
There will also MOTU Art show coming to Toy Tokyo in NYC this October. There will be art on display and sale. Proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald house.
