Mattel has posted a new video with Scott Neitlich where he shows us a side-by-side comparison of the vintage 1982 version vs. the 2002 version vs. the upcoming 2013 version. The Castle is in scale with 6" figures and the dimensions are approximately 23" to top of pier, 18" wide, 11-1/2" deep when closed, and the door is 8" tall or 7" tall when the Jawbridge is open.
Though they don't do a comparison of the new Castle with the foam mock-up they showed us back in October, you can see in these images I have made from the two different videos that the two seem to be fairly comparable in size.

Vintage Castle Compared With New Playset
In both images the right tower on the vintage castle comes up to about the same spot on the mock-up and the new playset. As for width, it tough to be 100% certain, but it actually looks like the new playset is a little wider than the mock-up.
Now I doubt any of this will do anything to silence the critiques who say the playset is to small. What they want is a playset that is true-to-scale with the MOTUC figures, but I think what Mattel is giving us is pretty close to what they proposed when they initially started taking pre-orders for it. Either way though anyone not happy with what they've seen has the option of canceling their pre-order, and for those who do like what they see can still place a pre-order at Mattycollector.com.
