I dont really understand mattel with that move. if a line isnt going well then at least try to cash in on more famous characters. I mean last year everything sold out. Even left over stock sells in minutes. I can understand what mattel tries and wants to do but its still lost money. If you ask me sub sales must be better then they want us to know otherwise i dont really understand that move.

I agree 100% with this. We all know they are trying to bully more people into buying subs, but at this point, I don't think as many people are going for it anymore. The line is dying...partially because of Mattel's business practices and partially because there are very, very few popular characters left to make. So, I would say they would be much better off making enough of the popular characters to go around and try to cash in while they still can.

My first thought was Sea Hawk, too. There are a handful of other Filmation characters I'd rather see first, but whatever. Scott Neitlich and the .Org love PoP more than He-Man and MOTU, so go figure on this choice.

Got an e-mail from Matty today:

Apparently, it's an accessory from one of the upcoming Filmation sub.

SPOILERZ: He won't be available DoS like Fang-Man *cue scary music*

I'm thinking Sea-Hawk, maybe? Or whatever that pirate from She-Ra was called.

The sword kind of looks like those swords that come stuck in sandwiches. lol

Mattel can kiss my arse yet again. I have no interest in this guy or their pathetic childish scare tactics again.

Since they are pretty much eliminating figures from "day of" and creating artificial scarcity, thus making resellers charge ridiculous sums for them, I'm just going to finish up the vintage figures, even if that means going on ebay and paying 3X what they originally sold for... at least it will only be a few here and a few there. Instead of giving in to Mattel's sub model, I'd rather downsize my future and existing collection. When it's no longer fun to collect, it's time to throw in the towel.

Everyone needs a pirate in their collection... Like most of you I have a feeling he will be costly in the secondary market...

he is a great character and this means I sub in. I don't think he will be easy to get at all later one. Could be a very high $ figure later on imo

i believe you are right, he seems to be a beloved pop character and matty allready stated that he won't be sold on day of sale.

I'm going to agree here too. Seahawk is a character that even non-POP fans have interest in. Everyone loves a pirate right?

I'm wondering if they will make some sort of energy effect to slide onto the cutlass.
