Based on the WIP pictures Randy's been showing on twitter, I'm guessing this has a whole lot more articulation. I'd be happy to snatch a couple of these if I see them at retail.

So, Im what I would call a moderate fan of the Alien franchise... That is to say, I like the first three yes, even Alien 3 and only really have a vague recollection of seeing the fourth one, once. Ive not seen any of the others. So, for those who follow the franchise much more closely, I dont mean to sound dismissive or condescending, but I just dont see the appeal of all of these Xenomorph figures. They all look the same, to me. Well, okay, notevery single oneis exactly the same. I know theres a queen, and other mutated musings, derivative of the original design. But, most of them look to me like its just the same thing over and over again, maybe with a different color scheme.

Im with you to a point. Some are simply a paint swap on another figure.

But the movies do have some distinct designs. The 1st Alien has Big Chap, the original Alien with the smooth dome and visible skull underneath. Aliens - has the alien warriors with the rigid domes and body - as if theyre more mature and their exoskeletons have hardened. Plus the Alien Queen. Alien 3 has the quadruped dog alien. Alien Resurrection has the Alien Warriors with more organic bodies, resulting from being born from the cloned Ripley Queen. You also get the Alien Newborn - birthed from an Alien womb instead of an egg.

AvP aliens are basically modern depictions of precious designs, but we do get the Predalien Queen. Then you have Alien designs from the old Kenner toyline, Dark Horse comics, and some video games. Some have minor differences while others are far more distinct in appearance.

Awesome, they look great. The movie had its flaws, but the new Alien designs were on point. I liked how they made the usualbiomechanical look appear more organic due tothese Aliens beingspawned from cloned tissue.
