Exactly. One guy hears one thing, another guyhears another, and the truth usually lies somewhere between the two.
But yes, we are in total agreement that SOMEONE needs to get on the ball and get these things distributed better. At this point, I collect to lines regularly, but I'd be happy to cut either one loose if it doesn't tow that line.

Yes, I'm aware that inventory control and layout are (supposed to be) dictated by "NECA Ambassadors." I'm also aware that NECA is not all that great at maintaining sufficient ambassadors in less-than-metropolitan areas, which has historically led to shortages at SO MANY of their stores(in particular, this was a big problem while Toys 'R' Us was still around). And IF that is a contributing factor to shortages still, I will totally acknowledge that.
HOWEVER . . . it was my understanding of the TMNT situation(fromdiscussions on various toy boards when the TMNT Target exclusivity deal was made, as well aswith my local Target GM, and a former NECA Ambassador friend) that unlike all those Jasons, Freddys, and Predators (which are NOT Target exclusive), the TMNT contract is a special case (thanks to the complexities of the licensing, i.e. Playmates), and while NECA Ambassadors still control inventory and staging, Target gets to dictate districting, e.g. "which stores we're willing to stock these in AT ALL." Notably, my GM said his district supervisor told him his store was too rural for a TMNT section. And the other three Targets in a 100 mile radius told me "we just don't carry those" as well.
(SIDE NOTE: As to the "NECA section" comment, you are correct, I had intended to type TMNT section in my original post, and simply typed NECA again. My bad.)
Now, if that IS a mandate to Target coming from NECA (or, for that matter, from Playmates to both Target AND NECA), and not Target making that call . . . well, then I'm wrong, and I agree NECA should do better (though I will still maintain they HAVE improved, the readily available supply of Baxter/Splinter and Krang and Tric/Rodney that I mentioned are still proof of that). But as you say, "the way I heard" distinctly indicated that Target was the main supply bottleneck on this issue.
Either way, I'm not disagreeing that they should be more available. Which I thought I made pretty clear. *shrug*

Seriously, look at the numbers and aftermarket prices on many of the most recent sets. They sellin stores for $50-$55, and scalpers on eBay can only sell them for $60-65. Like, you can get a Splinter/Baxter or a Tric/Rodneyset or an Android Krang for COST on the aftermarket right now. That means they are oversaturated, meaning they ARE getting distributed in greater numbers. They just keep getting sent to ONLY the areas Target lets them go to. Which is on TARGET, not NECA.
. . . Although they definitely aren't putting enough Rat King/Vernon sets out there, I will acknowledge that. Still, there's no question NECA has MOSTLY actually kept those alleged "vague assurances and promises" about shipping more.
I may just have this one. But it wont fit in my Neca Movie TMNT shelf. (Insert sad emoji)

These Look really good...You know like 10" fig's.....
It would be nice if NECA made a bigger foot solider fig =^)
The foot pack looks sweet. If I didnt only collect the tmnt movie (which is now complete for me), Id be all over it. I do kind of want them tho. As a kid I always loved the foot soldier design. I kind of wish theyd have the blue pants like the old figures did tho. I know they werent really in the show, from what i can remember but i just love that color scheme.

Other new parts include:
- A tessen (Japanese war fan), which was used by The Foot in the first episode "Turtle Tracks" to fire a sonic wave beam.- An orange throwing star, also used in the first episode, glows with energy and can fly and track targets around corners.- A "security officer" hat, also from the first episode, worn by the Foot robots who were posing as "Manhattan Security Services."- A second design of hand blaster, not sure what episode it's from.- And I'm not sure if the serrated sword, the regular throwing star, or the spear have ever come with any previous releases.
So . . . yeah, there ARE a couple new pieces in this set, but overall, there's nothing particularly essential here. It's an army builder.
I should watch that episode because I don't remember see it...???
