NECA Vintage Flash Gordon 7" Flash Gordon And Ming In-Hand Figure Images

Shown below are some in-hand images for NECA's new Vintage Flash Gordon 7" Flash Gordon And Ming figures which were offered through the NECA website this past summer as exclusives. If you pre-ordered them then you should expect to see them arriving at your front door soon. Mine came yesterday.

The figures are based on the original 1979 Flash Gordan action figure line from Mattel which were done for the animated series of the time. The coolest thing about these versions of the figures I would say is the packaging, which is a replica for what Mattel used back in the day. The cardbacks on these new figures are made with a very thick stock so you don't have to worry to much about them getting bent or such.

I am keeping my figures in the package which I think is the best way to display these two. Each figure comes with a blaster extra right hand for holding the blaster.

On the back of the cardbacks we see other figures for NECA's Defender Of The Earth line including the upcoming Lothar and Mandrake The Magician.

If you missed out on getting these this summer from NECA, unfortunately they are sold out and would likely have to look to the secondary market to pick them up. However if the packaging isn't a big deal for you, then I would suggest you wait and get these two characters in NECA's new Original Superheroes Series wave 1. Both these figures with slight paint deco changes and added accessories including alternate heads are being released in that wave which is slated for release in January and available for pre-order now at our sponsor EntertainmentEarth. The Phantom is the third figure in the wave.

I can see why he's (Ricky) asking if he's naked, 'cause in that cartoon, Ming has a deep green bodysuit, with yellow collar, epaulets and gloves, pine green cape and boots. This picture has the body suit almost the same color as his bare face, and the collar is a kind of orange. Its not the same as the cartoon.

i find it a very odd choice, at least darken the shade for the suit, it really is just the same skin tone...might be good for someone to use as custom fodder though
