Roger Maris And Mickey Mantle 2 Pack

by Outsiders
February 3, 2008
McFarlane Toys shows respect for tradition by offering something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue for our baseball collectors this year.

The "Summer of '61" 2-pack features legendary Yankees Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle side-by-side as a salute to their home run race of 1961. Maris and Mantle spent the 1961 season chasing Babe Ruth's single-season home run record, while propelling the Yankees toward 109 victories and their 20th World Series title. Mantle's production trailed off at season's end, but Maris continued the pursuit, and on Oct. 1, 1961 (the last day of the regular season) he cracked his record-setting 61st homer of the season off Boston's Tracy Stallard. Both figures are being offered in their gray Yankees jerseys for the very first time.

This 2 pack will be hitting stores in late July.
