New DC Multiverse Dark Nights Death Metal Dark Father BAF Wave Coming From McFarlane Toys?!?

by Jay Cochran
November 5, 2020
Looks like we may have more Dark Nights Death Metal based figures joining Batman and his Batcycle in the 7" DC Multiverse line from McFarlane Toys.

While not officially confirmed by McFarlane Toys at this time, overseas etailer Rabbit Toy Store has listed for pre-order a new wave of figures that includes the following:

-Dark Nights: Death Metal Superman
-Dark Nights: Death Metal Wonder Woman
-Dark Nights: Death Metal Robin King

The Build-A-Figure for this wave is listed as being a Dark Nights: Death Metal Dark Father figure which is essentially Dark Nights version of Darkseid. Of course we will treat this as RUMOR until we get an official confirmation from McFarlane Toys themselves.

I don't understand why Todd doesn't give WW interchangeable hands. This is the 3rd or 4th figure and had the same exact hands.

Totally agree with you....interchangeable hands must be a standard....I know Diamond Select toys does this a lot, hope other toy line will follow....unless todd starts the articulated fingers soon hehehe

If McFarlane is still pumping out these Death metal figures I'm sure they still sell well but I burned out on both the DC series and the figures a while ago. In fact Death metal is responsible for the crappy direction DC is currently going in and I wouldnt want to encourage that buying the DM books or figures. However a Snyder cut standard batsuit batman and full gear Deathstroke would definitely not suck.

McFarlane has really been pumping these out. I'm guessing he's been working on these for awhile. He must have shown the designs to DC as a pitch. They are pretty impressive. He's lucky The Joker was so well received. DC may not have gone with these otherwise. Just a guess.

Do we need these? The answer is probably "Yes". But DC has a lot of characters McFarlane can do, but sadly, don't. The Batmancomic arcs are great, but it's beginning tobe tiresome, at least for me. Can we get a Hawkman, how about a Solomon Grundy or a proper Doomsday?

I'm guessing that McFarlane Toys has a list of suggestions from DC Comics on what DC Multiverse action figures that they can make. With Death Metal currently being one of the most profitable things DC Comics has going right now, DC Comics probably wants McFarlane Toys to make Death Metal action figures.

I would enjoy this now, because don't be surprised when there's a drastic shift...and McFarlane Toys can only make DC Future State action figures.

I'm crossing my fingers and await Todd creating action figures based on Future State. Thinking of Mongul, the Quintessence, Tim Drake, Constantine, Etrigan, Mister Miracle and Big Barda. #McFarlaneToys

Man I like these figs and the BAF here looks way better than the Bane BAF. Hopefully this doesn't suffer the same issues that many people had with Bane. This entire set I'm getting.

I havent followed the comics in forever and Im glad for fans of this series that want all this, but I feel like all dc multiverse is is just this same switcheroo type characters. Heres a batman version of another character, heres a WW version of another.. Its feeling extremely played out. Even Marvel Legends knows to not push multiple waves of the same thing/storylineback to back. Give some friggin variety. I do see them as interesting and not bad but imo I have not seen much variety since McFarlane took over the DC license. Maybe Im just ignorant but as a fan of DC, I dont see alot of characters/versions I want. They are great sculpts and cool concepts but not alot of diversity in their character designs. Everything is a mishmash design of batman, wonderwoman or superman.

Updated images, looks like these will be out in July according to Amazon Canada.
