I wrote that back in January prior to either figure's release. There's a reason I sourced it and used phrases like "If Actionfigure411 has it right..." Clearly, they did not (and going back and checking, still don't).

Psycho Pirate is one of the most important characters in the Crisis story. Innthe end hes also one of the only characters that remembers everything from before the continuity was reset. It drives him a tad mad. He has his mask off quite a bit so this is the perfect application of the Platinum variant.

There's nothing particularly unique or special to edge these up to the laughable "Collector Edition" category, no glow in the dark gimmick or blacklight base add-on, they're just standard figures that happen to be exclusives (hell, Owlman doesn't have a single accessory to his name). So if Actionfigure411 has it right it looks like the new price point on Gold Labels is going to be a minimum of 50% higher from here on out, and Todd isn't even going to pretend you're getting more for your money anymore.
Welcome to the new price point. Welcome to the new McFarlane.

So, Psycho-Pirate without his mask, the source of all his power? I'll pass.

So this platinum is legit afterall?
This character looks neither psycho nor like a pirate.
Shown below is a look at the new DC Multiverse Platinum Edition Crisis on Infinite Earth Psycho-Pirate Figure from McFarlane Toys.
The Spectre is definitely the standout figure in the wave. The Superman has a good body sculpt. I'd love to see it reused for a classic slSuperman down the line.
